Smart Home Education Manager ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application.

2. Data Collection for App Functionality and Community Features

To enable core app functionality, cloud sync, and community features, we collect the following information:

• Account Information (Email Address & User ID): When you sign in to access community and cloud sync features, we collect your email address and a unique user ID via Firebase Authentication. This information is linked to your account and is not anonymous.

• Cloud Sync Data (iCloud & CloudKit): If you choose to subscribe and enable cloud sync, your lesson plans, child profiles, progress data, and uploaded files are stored in Apple's CloudKit. This allows you to access your data across multiple devices. This data is linked to your Apple ID and user account.

• Community Content: When you choose to share lessons or moments with the community, the content you share (text, tags, and uploaded images/PDFs) is stored in our Firestore database and associated with your public username.

• Usage Analytics (Firebase Analytics): We collect anonymous usage data to help us improve the app. This includes:
  Important: Analytics data is anonymized and cannot be used to personally identify you. You can reset your advertising identifier in iOS Settings to reset analytics tracking.

  • App features used (lessons planned, achievements earned, etc.)

  • Announcement views and engagement

  • General usage patterns and navigation

  • Device type and iOS version (for compatibility improvements)

• Announcements (Firebase Realtime Database): We deliver in-app announcements and updates using unique, non-personal identifiers.

We do NOT collect:

• Your real name (unless you choose to use it as your public username)

• Your physical address or location data

• Payment information (all payments are processed directly by Apple)

• Advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking

3. Local-Only Data Storage (For Non-Subscribers)

If you choose not to subscribe, all personal data you create within the app remains stored locally on your device only. This includes:

• Lesson plans and schedules

• Child profiles and information

• Teaching progress and achievements

• To-do lists and reminders

• Uploaded files and resources

• Any photos you choose to attach to lessons

This personal data is never transmitted to our servers or any third parties unless you actively choose to subscribe and enable cloud sync or share content with the community.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted third-party services:

• Firebase Authentication (Google): To securely manage user accounts for community features.

• CloudKit (Apple): To provide optional cloud sync for subscribers, using your existing iCloud account.

• Firebase Firestore & Storage (Google): To store publicly shared community content (lessons and moments) and user profile images.

• Firebase Analytics (Google): To collect anonymous usage statistics.

• Firebase Realtime Database (Google): To deliver in-app announcements.

All community data stored with Firebase is associated with your public username and user ID, not your real name or email address.

5. Optional Photo Library Access

The app may request access to your photo library only if you choose to attach images to lessons or your profile. This permission is:

• Completely optional

• Only used when you actively choose to upload photos

• Limited to selecting specific images

• Not used for any other purpose

• You can deny this permission and still use all core app features

6. Data Deletion

• Local Data: You can delete all locally stored personal data by uninstalling the app.

• Cloud Data (Subscribers & Community): If you wish to delete your account and all associated cloud data (user profile, shared content, etc.), please contact us at info@theuwahfamilyhomeschooling.com. We will process your request within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Our app is designed for parent use in home education. While you may store information about your children within the app:

• This information is stored locally on your device by default.

• If you enable cloud sync, this data is stored in your personal iCloud account.

• We have no direct access to any child-related data you choose not to share.

• You maintain full control over this information.

• We comply with all applicable children's privacy laws.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page

• Updating the "Last updated" date

• Providing an in-app notification for significant changes
